Check-in and Boarding

Check-in starts 2 hours and closes 40 minutes before departure according to the Schedule at the airport of the Place of Departure. Should you fail to (a) complete check-in procedures by the Check-in Deadline, or (b) show up at check-in or at the boarding gate in due time for any reason, we will cancel your reservation, deny your boarding and refund the amount of the Total Fare after deducting the amounts of the Fee For Other Services and the Seat Protection Fee. We suggest you purchase insurance to cover losses incurred by you being prevented from travel or from reaching the airport by the check-in deadline for any reasons.

Passengers with special requests or special needs should be present at check-in 2 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure or we may be unable to complete the check-in procedure in time to board that passenger.

Online check-in

As part of its commitment to reduce costs and offer cheaper fares to its passengers, Wizz Air has free web check-in options available for Wizz Air Hungary flights.

If you select web check-in you must print your own boarding card and present it at the boarding gate together with your travel documents (passport or National Identity card). If you hold non EU travel documents, you must present yourself at the check-in counter to have your documentation checked and your boarding card stamped before proceeding to the boarding gate. If you travel with checked-in hold baggage you must present yourself at the baggage drop desk no later than 40 minutes prior to the departure of your flight. If you cannot present your printed boarding card, you will be required to pay an airport check-in fee to have your boarding card printed at the check-in desk.

Web check-in is available from 30 days up to 3 hours before the scheduled flight departure time of the flight.

For more information please read our online check-in guide.

Passengers travelling with checked baggage must present themselves at the baggage drop desk no later than 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight. At some airports the check-in desks function as baggage drop desks as well.

Passengers who checked-in online shall be present at the boarding gate ready for boarding no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.

Non EU/EEA passengers must proceed to the Wizz Air check-in desk for document check before proceeding through security to departure. Failure to do so may result in travel being denied.

Passengers travelling in the Shengen area don’t need to fill in their travel documents’ details, but simply complete the web check-in procedure.

Passengers with pre-booked assistance must arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure and shall contact a member of check-in staff immediately after arrival to Terminal building.

Children under 14 years shall be accompanied and checked-in online by a Passenger above 16 years.

Passengers travelling with an infant must print and present the infants’ boarding card at the boarding gate.

You shall print the online boarding pass and present it together with your valid travel documents at airport security and boarding gate.

The same travel documents given during the web check-in must be presented at airport security and boarding gate.

During the online check-in process you might be requested to provide visa details when travelling on certain routes. If no visa is required for your country of destination, please just fill xxxxx in the visa information fields.

After checking-in online it is still possible to make changes to the reservation (except flight change, name change) or purchase additional services. Please note that in case of changing your selected seat or adding Priority Boarding to the reservation you need to
-reprint the boarding card
-proceed to the check in desk at the airport to receive a sticker reflecting the changes on the existing boarding card.

If the data provided during online check-in is incorrect, travel may be refused.

Mobile check-in

If you check-in with the app, you have the following options to retrieve your boarding pass:

• Visit wizzair.com, enter your flight confirmation number and print your boarding pass
• Save your boarding pass to Passbook* to have access even when your phone is offline
• Retrieve your boarding pass via the app when your phone is connected to the internet

It is your responsibility to make sure that either you have your boarding pass saved to Passbook or you have internet access at all times during the check-in and boarding process.
Some airports in the Wizz Air network do not yet support mobile boarding passes. In such cases, when you check-in using the app, a mobile boarding pass will not be generated. Please visit wizzair.com, retrieve your reservation and print your boarding card.

*Passbook is a native Apple iPhone and iPod touch app that was introduced as part of iOS 6. For Android devices we recommend the Passwallet application to view and store your Wizz Air boarding cards. These apps allow users to store and use electronic coupons, airline boarding passes, train tickets, movie and other event tickets, reward club cards, gift cards, as well as other forms of mobile payment.
